David Halperin and Stella on Ios, 1971

David Halperin first visited Ios in 1969 and returned with Stella in late November 1971. During their stay, they explored the island, spent time around Mylopotas and its caves, and observed everyday scenes such as fishermen mending their nets and life around the port. David’s photographs preserve a personal record of Ios before the island’s later tourism development.
